« Invisibles » is a powerful anthology of 27 short stories written by women from Upper Egypt during a writing seminar organised by Zahra Abdallah in Cairo. This innovative project was made possible thanks to financial support from the European Union, and the collection of stories was published by the Egyptian publishing house el-Maraya for Culture and Arts.

The authors, all from the Upper Egypt region, bring to life a world steeped in sacred traditions, complex social structures and enduring mysteries. This land, rich in cultural heritage and untold stories, has long inspired literary works. What sets « Invisibles » apart is that these stories are not told through the eyes of observers or outsiders, but are written by the women who lived them. For the first time, the heroines of these stories take up the pen to share their own experiences, offering an intimate and authentic perspective on their lives.
